Gettin' Crafty

Here are the crafts I've been working on this week.

Embroidered Hoop Art

Felt Board

This one was a gift for a 2 year old.  It was upcycled from a diaper box!  I've got another one in the works for Asher as soon as I can trust him not to eat the pieces.

Spaghetti Night

It was spaghetti night at our house.
Noodles and sauce everywhere.
Except in Asher's mouth.
Usually he loves spaghetti,
but tonight it was more fun to smoosh it everywhere than to eat it.
Bath time immediately followed!

Quote of the Day

Preschooler:  Ms. Shedd, I'm so proud of you for having your birthday.

2nd Preschooler:  I'm going to get you a big, beautiful, red flower with beautiful red sparkles for your birthday.

3rd Preschooler:  Ms. Shedd, where are you going to have your birthday?  Bounce & Play?

Celebrating a birthday with 4 year olds is a lot of fun.

Quote of the Day

In the pretend play area today, children were going on a trip to Chicago.

Teacher asked, "What are you going to do when you get there?"

Child (age 4) responded, "We're gonna shake it up & then break it down in Chicago!"

Running to Key West

I spent Saturday morning running the Charlottesville Women's 4 Miler, and Chris and Asher spent the morning cheering on the runners.

We are coming up on half way to Key West and are building up our mileage much more rapidly now!  We've made it almost to Savannah, Georgia.

15 Month Update

Asher is 15 months old, and we are so busy chasing after him, there's hardly been a moment to note what's new.  Yes, he is walking!!  He's been able to take about 5 steps in a row for about a  month, but this week he really took off!

Things Asher Likes
Shoes (his or anyone else's)  If I take off my shoes when I get home from work, he brings them over to me and insists that I put them back on!
Books
Trucks.  Boys will be boys I guess.
Books about Trucks

Helping around the house, especially cooking & vacuuming!

BREAD!  He loves it!  If he hears the word bread, he gets very excited and expects to get some to eat right away.  He is truly the son of Mr. Bread.  Other favorites are strawberries, spaghetti, peas, and of course yogurt.  He likes to pick up a pea in each hand, raise them over his head, and say, "wooooo" before he eats them.
